Above is Yasuteru Yamada, a senior Japanese man leading a group of Japanese retirees who want to get involved with the cleanup of the damaged Fukushima reactor.

These brave people are willing to take this risk because they feel they have only 10-15 years left to live, and cancer from the radiation would take 20-30 years to develop.  Their feeling is that it would save someone younger who might be hurt in the cleanup.

Sometimes a tragedy can really bring out the best in people.
